Default How to make carpet look like new

I had a navy blue carpet put in quiet a few years ago. It had a high

pile to it and I thought it looked better with a high pile than a low

pile even though the carpet salesman tried to tell me I would be better

with a low pile as high pile flatted easier I still brought the high

pile. My question is how can I make the carpet look better where is

flatted and you can really see the high traffic areas. Also; the carpet

collects everything. I have to vaccumm every day to get the lint, etc.

up. Is there anything that I can get to put on it so I don't ahve to

vaccumm every day? I don't have the money to buy new carpet so I would

appreciate any tips anyone can give me.

We used a stiff dog brush, brushing quickly. I know it sounds funny,

but sometimes the vaccuum just doesn't pull the fibers up enough. It is

not a permanent fix, but it does help both the appearance and the feel.

If the area is not too bad (ours was on the stairs and in the hall)it

can take just a few seconds.
