quick,easy, cheap breakfast foods

Now that school has started and everyone working, it is a stuggle to get everything done and everyone out in time. Does anyone have any ideas of some breakfast foods that are quick? Maybe even some that could be made ahead of time and just heated in mic. and go.

Grill cheese sandwich, oatmeal, omelets, peanut butter and jelly

sandwich, cold cereals, cold cut sandwich and cheese, scramble egg

sandwich, banana and oatmeal cookies, this is just a few ideals, I also

buy those frozen breakfast sandwich that you heat up in the microwave,

and they taste pretty good, just those sold at Burger King breakfast

sandwich!!! And I keep frozen pancake on the stick also in the frig.

for the kids to eat. I make waffle myself, homemade. I make triple

batch and freeze half. The kids can just heat in toaster or microwave.

    I hope this helps.

Make a few dozen pancakes and waffles on your day off work and freeze them individually. It is cheaper to make them instead of buying the frozen one from the store. The kids can have them plain for dazzle them with fruit, berries or peanut butter. There are many different combinations to come up with.

Make up a stack of waffles or pancakes and pop them into the toaster (store in

the freezer). Make them on the weekends or evenings when you have more time.

    Muffins can be made ahead.

Measure out bowls of cereal and put them on a tray in the oven the night

before (or set your table) - we have a cat, so we don't do that, just in case -

so kids can get some milk and eat.

Oatmeal or cream of wheat, cook up quick, very filling and economical. Make

some toast and have a cup of milk or juice with it. Yummm!

I am not a pop-tart fan, but I understand some kids love them. You can eat

    them cold (not toasted).

You can make your own breakfast bars/granola/granola bars - it takes some

time, since they are baked in the oven, but if you do it ahead of time, they are

easy to package and go. If you drive the kids to school or they walk, they can

    eat on the way.

PB&J sandwiches. Ham & cheese sandwiches. Gives them carbs, protein & fat in

    combination.

I just keep my eyes open for good deals at the grocery store. I buy bagels on

sale and keep a supply of them in the freezer. The kids can just toast them and

take them with them if they are rushing. Also, frozen waffles are sometimes

priced very well. I know it would be cheaper to make from scratch. But when I'm

pressed for time, I appreciate having these ready in a minute.

My younger daughter goes in 45 minutes later than her sisters so she will often

get scrambled eggs or oatmeal because we have the time.

Cereal and milk is always handy. I definitely look for cereal sales and then use

coupons. Also, I check the store brands, the kids like them just as much. I

won't pay $5 or more for a box of cereal!

What I have done is make a week's worth of english muffin sandwiches. I toast the english muffin, then I cook an egg. I add cheese and one of these: country ham, canadian bacon, bacon, fried bologna, or sausage. Then I put them in a container. In the morning we just pop in the microwave and done.

I also make Rise and Shine Cookies, French Toast sticks, Waffles, Pancakes. Then we just grab , heat and go.
