Cherry-Almond Bars

Bars

1 jar (10 ounces) maraschino cherries

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

2 eggs

1 cup sliced almonds

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Almond-Cherry Glaze

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

2 to 3 teaspoons reserved maraschino cherry juice



1. Heat oven to 350F. Drain cherries, reserving juice for Almond-

Cherry Glaze. Chop cherries; set aside. In medium bowl, mix 1 cup

flour, the butter and 1/4 cup powdered sugar with spoon. Press in

ungreased square pan, 9x9x2 inches. Bake about 10 minutes or until

set.

2. In medium bowl, beat eggs with fork. Stir in cherries and all

remaining Bar ingredients. Spread over baked layer.

3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely,

about 1 hour.

4. Meanwhile, mix all Almond-Cherry Glaze ingredients until smooth

and thin enough to drizzle. Drizzle cooled bars with glaze. For bars,

cut into 6 rows by 2 rows. Cut each bar diagonally in half to form

triangles.

Beefy One-Pot Dinner

1 lb. lean ground beef

1 cup chopped onions

1 cup thinly sliced carrots

1 cup finely chopped potatoes

1 cup water

1 can (14 oz.) baked beans

1/2 cup Original Barbecue Sauce

1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese



BROWN meat in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat; drain. Add

vegetables; cook 5 min., stirring occasionally.

STIR in water. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover and simmer 10 min. or

until vegetables are tender.

ADD beans and barbecue sauce; stir. Cook 5 min. or until heated

through. Sprinkle with cheese.

Fiesta Chicken Soup

Makes: 4 servings, 2-1/2 cups each



1/4 cup Zesty Italian Dressing

3/4 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces

1 onion, chopped

1 cup (1/2 of 14-1/2-oz. can) stewed tomatoes, undrained

1 can (14-1/2 oz.) fat-free reduced-sodium chicken broth

1-1/4 cups water

1 can (8-1/2 oz.) peas and diced carrots, drained

1 tsp. chili powder

1/2 cup Mexican Style Shredded Four Cheese



HEAT dressing in large saucepan on medium-high heat. Add chicken and

onions; cook 5 min., stirring occasionally.

ADD tomatoes, broth, water, peas and carrots and chili powder; stir.

Bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium; simmer 8 min. or until chicken

is cooked through and onions are tender. Meanwhile, preheat broiler.

LADLE soup into four ovenproof serving bowls; top with cheese. Broil,

6 inches from heat source, 2 to 3 min. or until cheese is melted.

Pork Chop Stuffing Bake

Makes: 6 servings



1 pkg. (6 oz.) STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix for Chicken

6 boneless pork chops (1-1/2 lb.)

1 can (10-3/4 oz.) condensed cream of mushroom soup


1 large onion, chopped

1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves

1/2 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese



PREHEAT oven to 350F. Prepare stuffing mix as directed on package;

set aside.

SPRAY large ovenproof nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Add chops;

cook on medium-high heat 4 min. on each side or until browned on both

sides. Meanwhile, mix soup, onions and thyme; spoon over chops. Top

with prepared stuffing; sprinkle with cheese.

BAKE 20 to 30 min. or until chops are cooked through (160F).

Saucy Caesar Baked Chicken

Makes: 6 servings



6 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves (1-1/2 lb.)

1 pkt. SHAKE 'N BAKE Original Chicken Seasoned Coating Mix

1 can (10-3/4 oz.) condensed tomato soup

1/3 cup Classic Caesar Dressing

1 cup Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese



PREHEAT oven to 400F. Coat chicken with coating mix as directed on

package. Place in greased 13x9-inch baking dish.

BAKE 20 min. or until chicken is cooked through (165F).

BEAT soup and dressing with wire whisk until well blended. Pour

evenly over chicken; sprinkle with cheese. Bake an additional 5 min.

or until cheese is melted and sauce is bubbly.
