Default For Ladies only- a Quick question....

Ladies, when you purchase your monthly products (for your period), why do you choose the product you choose?

(Is it price, you saw it advertised, you had a coupon, it's what your mom used, most convenient? etc, etc)

What, ultimately, would make you switch to another brand?

thanks for your help, I am doing some research!

Guys, seriously- ignore this entire post, cause you'll be squicked

    out.

I've tried several types of pads, but ultimatly, the ones my mom

gave me first are the most comfortable, and the driest (kotex ultra-

thin). I still remember her telling me that someday, I'd thank her

for not giving me something that felt like I was wearing a mattress

between my legs, and she's right. I hate, hate, hate the Always

    brand, and most store brands.

For tampons, I've stuck to OB no-applicator. When I first started

using tampons, I did it on my own, and just grabbed the smallest

box. I've tried other brands, but the OB is more tightly woven, I

guess? I can't stand the others that I've tried because they get all

    long and misshapen.

Price is sometimes a concern, or used to be, and I'd skip the

tampons and go with the cheapest pads. Now, I can afford it better,

and I stock up during sales and with coupons. They are not the

cheapest brands, but they're the most comfortable for me.

And wow, I really feel bad for any guys on the board after this

    question.

for free after rebate at Walgreens. I am super stocked with Kotex, they were
offering them free after rebate for a couple of months in a roll. Before that,
it was whatever worked. I tried Walmart’s store brand of pads, but the
adhesive was not strong enough so I took them back since they were guaranteed.
The store brand tampons work great, so I will use them if I run out of Kotex.

and I have a coupon. I like to keep at least 2 months stocked up. Sometimes I
can sometimes I can’t. I am pretty picky as to what brand I use
because I have had a couple not work as well, allergic reactions, etc. I
stick with Kotex Security or Tampax Pearls (my preference) for tampons. I also
use pads because I need to protection of both. I like Kotex thins (no
wings). The thinner I can get them and still get great coverage the
    better.

I use OB - non applicator. I can't stand using any of the others because they

are too long and get misshapen and I can feel them. And I just can't be having

that. I do have a few leftover boxes of the OB w/applicator that I had to use

for awhile. For some reason I couldn't get the non-applicator ones to sit

right. I also like to know I have the tampon -exactly where I want it to be-,

and it was near impossible for me to do that with an applicator.

I have a good stock of OB atm. My grocery store put all of them on clearance as

OB was changing the packaging. I try to buy on sale and with coupons

otherwise, wether I am low or not, to keep a stash. [I also have the misfortune

that my cats LOVE to play with them...]

Pads, OTOH, I cannot stand. The only time I use them is after giving birth.

Always makes those super thin, long ones and that's what I would use. I just

don't like the feeling of the end of the pad giving me a bit of a wedgie.

I've been using cloth pads for the past almost 8 years now. I love how they

feel. The disposable ones used to make me itch and sometimes when the um...

hairs somehow get caught in the adhesive, it hurts!!

Anyways, the cloth ones are soft, don't itch, are not a hassle to clean, and

are much cheaper than disposable. I made my own, so the upfront costs were

lower than if you buy online someplace.

I use the cup. A difficult learning curve but an AWESOME product.

I bought a Diva Cup so that would not have to mess with pads or

tampons (which I can not stand anyhow). Buy the cup once and never

buy anything again (unless you replace your cup). A friend told me

about it and looked for it online. Bought one for my teenage daughter

    also.
