Default temp hair color for 10 year old...need quick answers please.....

    <font size="3" color="black" face="Verdana">12.0pt;font-family:Verdana;color:windowtext;">My 10 year old
daughter just got her hair cut super short (almost a burr) for summer camp.
Last year, her longer than shoulder length hair was just too hot for her so
this year we cut it all off. Now, it is spiked and she would like to color it
red. I do not want a permanent hair color on her, so I was wondering if anyone
was familiar with something I could put on her hair to make it red for a couple
    of days or maybe weeks.

If she has light color hair, I recommend something called Manic

Panic. It can be found at Sally Beauty Supply. It's a semi-

permanent, washes out within a week or two.

Now, the thing with Manic Panic is that the more often you use it,

the longer it will last. So, the first time, it might only last a

few days. It washes out easily bit by bit when she showers.

It comes in a small jar, and you'll want a brush (they look like a

long handled, short bristled paint brush) to "brush" it iinto her

    hair.

You could also get the spray's, but they wash out immediatly.

Sallys normally has stuff like that. I would use a red hair gel

before red dye. but red does not wash out like other colors it grabs

the hair and even if they consider it a temporary color will always

    leave red behind!

My nieces have used every shade of kool aid to color their hair. I
never asked exactly how they do it or how long it lasts, but I am sure
you can find something on the Internet about it.

Depends what type of red your looking for. If it's more of a funky red than say auburn, try a package of unsweetened kool-aid. I think they are less than $0.25. The color doesn't last for that long either. Jeanne

    Melissa,

A few years back (2-3), the "Goth" high school kids in our area would

use a "koolaid base" tint on their hair because it wasn't suppose to

be permanent. Don't know for use if it is or not! My boys aren't into

that kind of thing. Try a Google search on the web and see what you

can find. Otherwise there are non-permanent hair colors you can buy

from beatuy supply houses, salons, and may even the grogery store.

Now, it is spiked and she would like to color it red. I do not want

a permanent hair color on her, so I was wondering if anyone was

familiar with something I could put on her hair to make it red for a

couple of days or maybe weeks.

She leaves tomorrow for camp so any quick answers would be great!

    Thanks!

    Melissa in OK
