    Default need help with budget

    hi i am a sahm of 5 kids.we are haveing problems with making our money

    stech. my dh brings home about 800 on the 1 and 15. i bring home 400 on

    the 1 and 15 and my son get ssi 742 a month. our rent is 1200 a

    month.our utilities are 90 for smud 30 or pg&e 10 for phone. my husband

    drives to work all over so about 100 a week for gas.well when you add

    it up there isnt much left,to buy food, diapers, non food ie toilet

    paper, toothpast, etc I need help with cheaper meals, things i can do

    to save money etc thanks for any ideas

    Not sure where you are from, but you could do your grocery shopping at

    Aldi's or Compare Foods (I am from NC). THey have really good prices.

    Also, cooking from scratch will save you money. You know, potatoes,

    rice etc... Not necessarily the healthiest, but cheaper.

    Prepackaged "convenience" foods cost alot. You didn't mention

    insurance, but you could shop around for a cheaper rate. If you have

    these items, you could get rid of cell phones, cable tv, internet

    etc... You didn't say but if your dh works for a company, do they not

    reimburse him for gas? If he is the owner, then I can see why not.

    Anyway, I hope some of these things help.
