    My
wedding was 14 years ago, but it was relatively cheap I think as far as
    weddings go. It cost right
around 7K – and my mom bought all bridesmaid dresses. She didn’t want my friends to have
to pay for them since they were only 18 like me. (<span class="GramE">don’t
have a lot of money at that age.)

We made everything we could possibly make. And everything looked pretty nice. Things you don’t think of but
add up – ring bearers pillow, flower girl dresses, veil, favors, pew
bows. We did what we could
and then had the money left for things you can’t usually do cheaper –
    food, pictures.

BTW I should add that my wedding dress was
$300 and my mom added and changed things to it. I love it! It was new but not exactly what I
    wanted. She made it perfect.

Kathy, there are a lot of websites on how to have a cheap wedding, but still have it nice. My husband and I want to renew our vows because we never had the wedding we dreamed of and his family wasn't there we are both only in our 20's and then in about ten or more years we will have to pay for two more weddings which are our oldest two, because our youngest two are boys. If you want i can send you the links I have for cheap weddings, but nice ones. What Demian, my husband and I did our first time, was had it at my grandparents on thanksgiving day so reception was thanksgiving food and I didn't get a true wedding gown, because we couldn't afford it, but you can a lot of times find cheaper ones online or at davids bridal if you have one of those where you live.

Have you ever talked about a triple wedding? Just a

    thought.

    <div style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">
    Possible Tips for cheap wedding:
1.Have a triple wedding (this has been suggested by at least one other)

    2. Get white prom dresses or white bridesmaid dresses instead of a wedding dress.

    3. Have a cookout at a park and have everyone bring something to pass (downside of this is what are you going to do if it rains)

    4. Have a family member take the pictures/videos. This works best if you have a family member that loves photography as a hobby and they would have fun doing this.

    5. Research prices like crazy! Most places around here charged $25 a head when I got married. The place I had found had a wonderful buffet at only about $14 a head. It is worth it to research. My DJ was only $500 for the night, did a great job, where most of the other places were $700 and up, with a couple that were $600. I live in Wisconsin, not PA, so I don't think giving you contacts from here would do much good.

    6. Have they thought about eloping and having a cheap reception when they got back?

    7. Make your girls pay for their own weddings...my mom didnt pay for any of mine....I paid for my whole wedding and part of my college myself. Well, husband paid part of wedidng expenses and most of my college was funded by the state, but my point is my parents didn't pay for any of it. I think my dad may have paid for the beer at the reception and other than that we paid it all ourselves.

Kathy, My husband and I got married a year ago. When I did the guest list it totaled more than 200 people. we could not afford that. We want to buy a house, so we just had achurch ceremony with about 50 close family members and a small cook out at mybrother in laws house. the total came to about 1500. that included my dress, my daughter's dress, flowers for the church, donations for the church, limo, photogragher, drinks and food. I was like a family get together.Everyone was comfortable.I would not change a thing. Weddinga expensive. When we got engaged we sat down and worked out a budget and decided on what was important to us. Get together with your daughter, her fiance' and his parents to discuss what is more important to them. Are his parents going to contribute to the wedding? Is your daughter and fiance going to
contribute?First find out if they are and how much. Then work within that budget. If you can't afford to invite all 150 people, then don't. We sent out wedding annnoucements to the family that we did not invite and believe me my family wants us to get a house, they weren't the least bit upset that they didn't get invited to the wedding. Hope this helps a little... Good Luck!

Hobby Lobby has some nice wedding things, like flowers, flower girl baskets, ring bearer pillows, and much more. Almost any week you can go online to www.hobbylobby.com and click on advertised specials and coupons (or something similar) and find they have a 40% off anything in the store coupon. I printed them off every day of the week and went in and bought one thing a day or my hubby and I would split up and buy two things a day (one per each of us). Sometimes they will also advertise 50% off all wedding things. This is how I saved a TON. Hope this helps! Misty

This is how I think you can cut cost for the wedding. Try to find

your dress for FREE and do some alterations and add ons if you like.

Try Craigslist or Freecycle for free wedding dresses. Or try a

thirft store. I know the Salvation Army thirft store by me have

several wedding dresses and they are all under $25.

Another thing is to use silk flowers. Find someone friend or family

that has the art of arranging silk flowers and go with that. You

could also look online for silk flower arrangement with

instructions. Take a day and get family together and make the

flowers for your wedding. Family normally like to be a part of

    something.

Also, post a Want on your local Freecycle / Craiglist for wedding

decorations or anything related to wedding items. You may find

someone who have the items you need and never used them or they look

new. The majority of your money may be spent on the

location, minister and the cake. How about a pot-luck style

reception. Do you have some friends who can really cook and make the

dishes look like it was a professional who did it? Get them to help.

I'm sure I could think of more. But hopefully these help
