Some recipes calling for powdered vanilla are actually calling for flavored powdered coffee creamer, like coffeemate french vanilla. If the recipe calls for more than a Tablespoon of powdered vanilla, I would really double check the ingredients.

I usually buy powdered vanilla on Amazon, it's less expensive and arrives within a day or so.

I honestly don't know if they're interchangeable. I have a few recipes that call for powdered vanilla and I didn't have it because it's so expensive...many times I would use a french vanilla powdered creamer..didn't work great, but wasn't terrible either. I'm gonna make this MYO vanilla powder and see what happens.

thanks for the MYO vanilla powder! I make all my own mixes up and use vanilla powder in those. I buy it in Utah every time I go there. With Mom & Dad both gone now those trips will be a lot less. Hate to buy online as shipping added to it really makes it expensive! I also keep a jar with sugar and vanilla beans in it sealed up and use that in some baked goods needing vanilla instead of using the liquid.

Size: 8.1 KB I found a great deal on Vanilla Beans on Amazon this morning, they're $5.99 for 10 Madagascar vanilla beans (with free shipping with or without Prime). It's the cheapest I've found in ages.

Here is also 20 vanilla beans (10 madagascar/10 Tahitian vanilla) for $11.49 (free shipping with prime)
    ~Enjoy!~
