    Default TV Repair

Does anyone know any basics about TV repair? I have an old TV that

still has good sound and picture, but developed a loud noise--sort of

a buzz or like a fan (don't know if TVs have fans). This noise is

independent of the volume (you can hear it as soon as it is plugged

in, even if the volume is all the way down.) Repair shops want 50-75

dollars just to look at it. I can't justify that right now, but hate

to throw it away if it is something I can SAFELY fix.

    Thanks, TLK
