Default Ideas for using "old" strawberries

Hi everyone! I have a carton of strawberries that are just a little

beyond their fresh date Does anyone have any recipes they'd like to

share for how I can use these? Thanks!

If they aren't moldy I blend them with enough sugar to

taste and a little fruit juice and make a healthy

popsicle for my kids. You can do the same with other

    fruits too.

This is what I do with my not quite perfect strawberries. Make sure

you use a bowl much larger than you think you'll need. This will

    bubble up quite a bit.

    Super Easy Strawberry Jam

2 cups of strawberries capped and cut up

    1 cups of sugar

    2 teaspoons of pectin

Pour the sugar over the berries and let sit for 10 minutes. Mash

well. Stir in pectin. Microwave high for 4 minutes. Then, microwave

medium for 6 minutes. Pour in hot jars. Cover and refrigerate for no

    longer than one month.

I cut mine up and freeze them – when
we want a smoothie or a milkshake we just take out what we need and toss them
    in the blender.
