Default question about fruit and veggies

I don't know of a site, but with the total transportation network

around the world, we're no longer limited to what's in season where we

live. so my rule of thumb is if it's on sale, I can afford it -- it

was in season somewhere before they shipped it to us.

Default question about fruit and veggies

Different fruits and veggies are in season in different area's. For

instance, while Apples might be in season in September in Michigan,

they might be in season much earlier in Georgia.

Here is a website that might help, though:

    http://fruitseasons.com/

Your best bet, though, is to find out what is grown locally, and to

watch prices over a 4 week period and record sale prices vs. full price

for the items. If you live in a cold weather winter state, then the

price of fruits and vegetables will be higher because everything is

    shipped in.

If you live in a year-round warm weather state, the items will be lower

year round because they can be grown locally.

Certain area's are known for certain products. For instance, I grew up

in the heart of Apple country, in Michigan. My home town is home to the

Old Orchard juice company. As you can imagine, apples are dirt cheap

    here in the fall.

In Florida, citrus is big. In Maine, Cranberries are big. In

    California, grapes are big.

Anyway, hopefully the site I listed will be of some help to you!
