    Default Mom as credit agency

Frugal baby, but not so frugal 13 year old. I'm trying to teach both my boys to
be frugal. Any money they get, they keep 1/2 and 1/2 goes to the bank with few
exceptions. My 13 year old wants "his" money from the bank whenever he wants
anything. I am trying to also not loan them money or let them buy anything on
"credit" (with me being the credit agency). I always hear "I have money at
home" or "I'll pay you back".
Does anyone else do that and does it work for you?

I have a 7 and 8 year old. I do not loan them any money because when it comes
time to pay up the amount always changes, they already paid, or they don't
figure on tax. Or whatever other excuse they can think of so I do not loan
    money.
If we are at a store and there is a great sale, I buy it and if they have the
money they can buy it from me when we get home other wise it is a gift saved for
an occasion. They have learned that if they have not saved enough money when
that great secondhand item is for sale, Mom's price might be higher because she
had money saved up and didn't waste it on candy.
