    Default French Dip Roast

    French Dip Roast
    1 large onion, quartered
    1 3 lb. bottom round roast
    1/2 cup water or beef broth
    1 pkg au jus gravy mix
    1/8 tsp seasoned pepper
    French Rolls
    1. Place onion in slow cooker.
    2. Trim fat from roast. Cut up to fit. Put in crock pot.
    3. In a small bowl, stir up water/broth, au jus, and pepper until blended. Pour over roast.
    4. Cover and cook on LOW 12 hours, or on HIGH 6 hours, until very tender.

    5. Remove meat from liquid. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing thinly across the grain.
    6. Strain broth if desired and test for salt/seasoning.
    7. Serve on split French/hard rolls for sandwiches, use liquid in
    individual bowls for dipping.
