      Happy Trail Dog Biscuits


      1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
      1 teaspoon salt
      1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
      1 teaspoon garlic powder
      1 cup rye flour
      1 large egg
      1 cup old-fashioned oats
      1/2 cup vegetable oil
      1 cup cornmeal
      1 3/4 cups beef broth
      1/4 cup liver powder


      Preheat oven to 300°F.

      In a large bowl, blend dry ingredients. Add egg, oil and broth.Mix well forming a soft dough. If the dough is too moist, add a little more flour; if too dry, add a little water.

      Roll to 1/2" and cut with doggie cookie cutters. Bake at 350 for 2 hours. Turn oven off, open door slightly & let the biscuits set overnight to harden.

      At this time, I only have one dog (a sheltie). Being single and working a lot I don't see me replacing the one that passed for a while. Current dog loves being in charge at our house!

      I have only one dog a Rattie named Yeppie also a big black fat cat named Felix {can't have chickens where I live} I can have cage Rabbits for eating tho..Thought about trying it next year
