September 29th is officially National Coffee Day! If you’re a coffee officianado and love the flavor of a great cup of joe, check out where you can score Free Coffee on National Coffee Day and learn how it started to begin with . . .


While the original origins of National Coffee Day are not widely known, this event actual began in Japan by the All Japan Coffee Association in 1983 and was first mentioned publicly in 2005 by the Southern Food and Beverage Museum which called a press conference to celebrate International Coffee Day and announce the first ever New Orleans Coffee Festival!

The following Countries Celebration National Coffee Day on September 29th: USA, Canada, England, Ethiopia, Malaysia and Sweden (Japan and Austria Celebrate their National Coffee Day on October 1st).

Dunkin Donuts
– free medium cup of hot or iced dark roast coffee, limit 1 per guest.

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf-half off all sizes of iced coffees all day at participating locations

Cumberland Farms– Text the word FREECOFFEE to 33733 on your smartphone to receive a coupon for a free coffee, must be redeemed on Sept 29th

Krispy Kreme- free small coffee AND a glazed donut (when they purchase a coffee drink)

McDonalds- Some locations (CT, MA, etc) are giving out small coffees, call ahead for participation

Panera Bread– Rewards members can grab a free coffee every day of September 2015

Peets Coffee & Tea– Free small cup of Peets Major Dickason Blend when you purchase any baked good, or fresh food item

Sheetz– free Kick in the beans coffee at Sheetz locations (PA,VA, OH,NC, MD)

WaWa- Free Coffee, any size.

Whole Foods– 12oz cup of coffee for a quarter.

Companies that are no longer offering free coffee: Starbucks (planting a tree for every bag of coffee sold instead), Caribou- donating a cup of coffee to cancer care workers instead
