Applebees Baby Back Ribs
* 3 racks of pork baby back ribs, cut in half
* 1 cup ketchup
* 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
* 3 tbsp dark brown sugar
* 3 tbsp worcestershire sauce
* 1 tsp liquid smoke
* 1/2 tsp salt
Put ribs in a large pot with water to cover.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 1 hour or until meat becomes fork-tender.
Meanwhile mix remaining ingredients in a medium saucepan.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered, stirring often, 30 minutes or until slightly thickened.
Heat broiler. Line broiler pan with foil for easy cleanup.
Place ribs, meat side down, on broiler-pan rack, brush with ½ the sauce and broil 4 – 5 inches from heat source for 6 – 7 minutes.
Turn ribs over, brush with remaining sauce and broil 6 – 7 minutes longer or until edges are just slightly charred.

Re: Applebees Baby Back Ribs
This recipe is not even close to how Applebees does there ribs. The Actual recipe goes like this. Mix 2 parts salt 1 part granulated garlic and 1 part ground black pepper. Season Ribs on both sides. What they do is put them on grill not to cook but to achieve color. Remove and stack tightly in roasting pan with rack. pour in 1 part liquid smoke (not smoke seasoning) with 2 parts water. They cover thiers with two layers on film wrap and one layer of foil. Then put them in steamer. Steam does get to them its the 210F temp it maintains. For four hours. they are cooled and wrapped individually. reheated on the grill and glazed with Cattlemans BBQ sauce.

Re: Applebees Baby Back Ribs
Whoops the steam doesn't get to them. They are very tightly wrapped. They do use Cattlemans and usually are not glazed just brushed on before being plated.

Re: Applebees Baby Back Ribs
Well, IMO BOTH recipes sound really tasty. I'm saving both recipes...one of these days, think I'll prepare them both and see which is closer to the actual Applebee's ribs.
Thanks for sharing.
