THANK YOU!!!
I'm a newbie on this forum, but I've been a fan of the website for years. I wanted to let you site managers know the impact its had on my life ....
About ten years ago I lost everything to a catastrophic illness. I spent several years on SSDI, and one of my biggest challenges was eating right. I'm a good cook and I understand nutritional concepts. The problem was with my symptoms. I usually lacked the focus and motivation to cook. So I usually lived on crackers, junk food, or even no food at all. This, naturally, set up a vicious cycle with my illness as it got worse and worse.
Then someone sent me a link to your page of MYO mixes. It was revolutionary! Suddenly I had options, and I could take advantage of my good days to plan ahead for my bad days. Better yet, I could adapt the mixes to my purposes with whole grains and (as my financial situation improved) organics. No more of the fillers, preservatives, and artificial stuff so endemic to food banks and "affordable" foods. Better yet, the simple act of preparing my own healthy food again boosted my confidence and self-respect.
My recovery has taken a long time, and of course was a complex mix of several factors ranging from finding the right team of doctors to social supports to ultimately redefining myself. But restoring a healthy diet was the first major shift that made everything else possible. I consider myself fully recovered after ten years and on a rewarding career path. So if, as you do the hard work of maintaining this site, you wonder whether it makes a difference ... it does.

Welcome! We're glad you decided to register

Wow, so sorry to hear that of all that you went through!About ten years ago I lost everything to a catastrophic illness. That's so uplifting to hear! It's wonderful to hear that you have recovered and are doing so well. Sometimes people are so engrossed in their daily lives, working, raising families, running around trying to get everything accomplished and getting the bills paid... that they don't realize how rich they already are. All the money in the world means nothing if you aren't healthy enough to enjoy it.Then someone sent me a link to your page of MYO mixes. It was revolutionary! It's amazing what a person can accomplish if they set their heart and mind to it, you're an inspiration!
