It's October 2nd and the chill is in the air.......It's been raining for the last two days but the sun finally came out today. They are saying more rain for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week. I know we need the rain too! The leaves are turning and Fall is here......I sure can't wait til HALLOWEEN!!! Sending my love to all my budget101 family!!!

How are you doing? I just wanted to send a quick message and let you know that I have not forgotten about you. I just got back from Oregon, after being there since before the 4th of July. I went to help my sister care for her ailing husband. He lost his battle with kidney cancer on the 11th of July. I spoke with her yesterday, she seems to be holding up ok. I guess one never really gets over such a thing. They had been married for 57 years. i guess I better get to bed. You take care, hope all is wonderful with your world.

Hey Lynn, glad to see you on here again. I try to get on here as much as I can. When I do get on it's a quick post and back off again. The boys started back to school yesterday, they were happy to see their friends again. And it gives me some time to do some cleaning before I go to work. I'm praying for you on the job thing. Things will work out, I know they will. Was the company you got laid off from just doing cut backs? Keep in touch, and will chat with you later.

Hi Lynn - Wow, 84,000 sounds very cheap for a 5 bdrm, 3 bth house. Can you qualify w/o a job? Sure hope things work out for you. . . .Still working out the kitchen system in my head. I'm pretty sure it will work. It does require easy, quick to put together recipes but I'm gathering a lot of new ones plus I had a really large collection of recipes from when I worked full time and still cooked for 4 boys. I've always been a menu planner so I'm going to use plastic magazine organizers. They are almost 4 inches wide. In each one I'll collect EVERYTHING needed for a certain menu except the fridge stuff. There'll be a little white hang tag on each box stating what meal it is. All I have to do is take out the organizer & everything is there. No more numerous trips back & forth to the pantry (I can only carry 1 or 2 things at a time). Measured things will already be measured & in baggies. Even the recipe, if needed, will be in the organizer. This will cut down on steps & time required to gather things & time needed to measure things. I considered shoe boxes or baskets but they are wide - Mag. organizers are wide enough to hold all the ingred. yet tall enough so they don't take up all the shelf. This way I don't necessarily have to use them in a particular order but everything is there when I do decide to use it and the hang tags tell me what is in each one. This will make things easier for me and help keep the pantry organized at the same time. It's been a long time since I really had something to think about & plan. . . .Matthew is home to stay. Lynn, sorry to hear about the job. That is a familiar statement that I have been hearing from most of my friends who live towards the east, big companies laying off or just shutting the door completely. The news says it is improving, not sure how they see that-gas is going back up in my area last two weeks up 20 cents, school items are not as low as they were last year either. I think it will be a while before it does get better for the average person.

I have had a rough few months, but have really had fun this summer getting back to the basics and spending the time with my boys. I have two more weeks to enjoy with them and try to get things in order then I will be going back to work more hours than before for the same amount of pay, but I can't complain at least there will be some money coming in to help.

School starts on the 19th here and the boys are begging for it to come slowly. The schedule will get crazier than ever. I have tried to update the calendar but have aleady gone into panic mode seeing a couple nights that we have to be in three different places all at the exact same time.

Do you have any leads on a job? How is your family doing? Kids are keeping you busy I bet.

Hey girl - how is everything? Don't get on here much anymore. Seem to have lost interest in most things although I have been trying to cook more lately. Guess I got tired of having sandwiches or cereal most nights for dinner!!! Wish I could cook like I used to but now recipes HAVE to be quick to put together or I just can't do them. Have come up with a system that saves me lots of steps and time in the kitchen. When I finally get it in place I'll tell you all about it. . . .Matthew called Tues. - he was in Kuwait. Was going to be there 2 or 3 days then they are coming back to Ft. Hood for a couple of wks. then he'll be home for good. Thank God. . . .Sissy says Hi. . . .Write when you get a chance.
