Sugar Starch

Old-fashioned starch used for lace doilies.

Combine the following in a small saucepan over low heat until clear. Cool

1/4 cup water
3/4 cup granulated sugar


Lightly dampen the collar and cuffs of blouse or lace doily. Blot with a clean towel to remove excess moisture. Squeeze out excess starch, then carefully re-shape the collar and cuffs or doily.
