Do your chrome fixtures have hard water stains on them? Here’s a simple fix!

You’ll Need:
Baking soda
White vinegar

Lightly wet the fixture with plain water (it’s helpful to use a spray bottle). Generously coat the dampened fixture with baking soda.
Wrap a terrycloth rag around the fixture, then pour vinegar over it, soaking it completely. Allow it to soak for an hour or more.

Lightly scrub the fixture, rinse well and dry with a clean terry cloth.

If you have small areas of discoloration, try applying plain toothpaste with a clean dry cloth, then rinse and dry.

Trick for Keeping them Spotless!

Once your fixtures have been properly cleaned, you can take a small piece of wax paper (from the kitchen!) and gently rub it over the chrome, polishing it. It will repel water and stay bright and shiny for twice as long, keeping the stains from setting in again.
