I feel robbed

Okay to start with, I have been having problems with my feet for sometime now. The pain got to the point of being unbearable. So I went to my Dr., and she referred me to the Foot clinic 25 miles away. So the next day I went, hoping that they would be able to help me.

Well long story short, I have spurs on both heals and the soft tissue is flaired up. Also they said that I have torn tendens on bottom of both feet. Okay, so I ask what can be do to help it heal up. So they taped up both my feet, and also taped a pad on the bottom of my feet. And told me to wear this for a week, and then come back. So I did this for two days, and it was very hard to walk. After working one night for 9 hours, the next day my feet were so swollen that I couldn't even walk or even think about going to work. So I call them and ask if this is normal. No, it isn't they say. So they ask me alot of questions. Then I find out that this was an experiment that they tried on me, and wasn't sure if it would work or not.

Now I'm mad. So I feel that since this little experiment that they did on me didn't work, that I shouldn't have to pay for the whole bill. I understand the visit, but not for the supplies that they wasted on me and didn't work. My question is, do I have a right to tell them that I shouldn't have to pay for something that didn't work? I don't think that I should. I missed 8 hours of work because my feet swelled so badly I couldn't walk to even make it to work. Then to find out that they didn't know if this would work or not, because it was an experiment. What do you all think?

Oh wow..and YES i would tell them to pay the bill!!
Cmon..you cant be serious that they didnt even know if it would work!!!
We know as adults to go to the doctors and get medical attention to relieve our syptoms.

And when we do go to the doctors to get help, they dont give us something that they dont know whats gunna happen or if it will work.

I can totally understand about your feet, mine are the same way. They hurt!!! I want medicine to ease the pain, not an experiment!!! Gees.

I am just as frustrated as you..and its not even me!
Im sorry your having to go through this, i wish you the best of luck.

    And put them feet up!!!

    Keep us posted.

Thanks for your in put Cheril, it helps to hear from others. I'm very serious about them saying that they didn't know if it would work or not. That's why I feel so angry about the whole thing.

But I have found something that is working. I've started taking Hydranga capsules (5 at nite, and 5 in the morning), and also some Magnesium tablets (one a day). The Hydranga helps to with the spurs and the Magnesium helps the nerves in my feet. The lady at the herb store help me more than the doctor did. And it didn't cost as much either. I'll take the hydranga until the bottle is empty, and the magnesium daily for as long as I want. I was told that it wouldn't hurt to take it.

I hope this information can help others if they have problems with their feet too.

This is great information, Thank-You soo much.
I had spurs removed from both of my heels about 13 and a half years ago. And the feet have been bothering me again for some time.

They let you know that the procedure was an experiment after the fact, I would certainly ask them a few more questions. The fact that they didn't let you know up front what was going on would bother me also.. Experiment, I would let them know what you think about the whole situation.

I sometimes wonder about the different practices out in the world today. Understanding & Communication -- this office seems to have failed on their part in both aspects.. I would grade the above a minus..

Do keep us posted -- Hope that you are feeling better soon.. Walking on glass and wobbling surely isn't anything to play with...

I'm happy to report that the hydranga is helping me alot. The doctor on the other hand is no longer being visited. I told them I would not be back, I didn't trust them anymore. So for those of you wanting to try the hydranga, if you are taking other meds, please make sure it's safe to take this (hydranga) before you start on it. Some meds don't mix well with herbs. Thank you to all of my budget101 family for you support on this. And for reading my ramblings, all of you are the best.
