So much to do, so little time

Rate this Entry
My house is a mess. I am not as far along with packing as I should be. My kids are rounding the final turn in school and we need to get cracking so we will finish on time. My dogs need their nails trimmed. My yard looks horrible. Et cetera. Et cetera. Et cetera.

There is just not enough time to get everything done!

It's 10:00 and I am still making pancakes. They're for the freezer. But usually we're doing school by now.

I feel like I am staying way behind my schedule every single day lately, with no hope of catching up.

<insert primal scream here>

...Back to work I go...

    I definitely feel your misery! While I'm off at work, I wish I could be getting things at home done and had so many more hours in my night to get everything I need to get done. and there is never enough time.

    My apartment is a mess too, the floors need sweeping, mopping, carpet cleaned. The trash needs to be taken out. Bathrooms cleaned, etc etc etc. We have NOOOO food at all and i can't find time to get groceries (maybe tonight?) and i have 2 exams this week and 1 paper due tomorrow (already done though woo hoo) and i only have a few hours each night to rest, why would i want to clean?? or do errands .. . need to go to the post office but cant because it's closed by the time i get home. need to get an allergy shot too.

    phew, i better stop rambling because im starting to make my blood pressure boil.

    i think what helps... is putting it all down on a list or in an agenda and then forgetting about it. then when the time comes, look at the list and do it. but otherwise, no help in beating ourselves up, right?

    I felt that way when I lived with my ex-roomates. I'd do a full sink of dishes then suddenly my roommate would cook and 2 sinkfuls of dishes. I ended up doing sweeping, cleaning, washing, etc... when everyone was asleep since it felt like things got done and stayed done.

    When you get married and have kids life gets really busy. There is never enough time in one day to get everything done. It's just the way life is.

    But I do keep a list at all times, a list for chores to be done, a list for groceries to buy, and a list of things that need to done outside. And I always keep a calender near by for all the other acivities in life. Don't get yourself to worked up, there's always tomorrow to work on things too. Take it one day at a time, that's all you can do. Make realistic goals for that day, be real about it. Your only human and you can only do so much in one day. Everything will be okay, and don't forget to take a breath once in awhile. It's okay to take a break in between everything too. This is why I hate moving, everything is always a mess. But just for a little while. Then you will get back on track again. Remember to that it won't be like this forever, it's just for a short time.
