Happy Valentines Day!

Rating: 1 votes, 5.00 average.
I haven't been able to get into this site for 2 days but was so happy to finally get back in! Got 6 inches of snow last night. I must confess I'm happy to see it! After fighting one flu/cold after another for the last 10 days I'm glad to just stay home and do nothing!

It is my son's 25th birthday today. He is currently living at home so he got to choose the menu today. He asked for and got Double Cheeseburgers and homemade curly fries and salad. For his birthday cake he requested angel food dessert. We tear up the angel food cake into pieces and put into a 9X13 pan and then cover it with pudding and then he requested blueberries and strawberries and then whipped cream. He got practical presents of clothes and shoes except for the 5 qt ice cream bucket his sister filled to the top with his favorite candies.

We had a double movie day and Dad handed out treats to every one. We got enough sugar flowing through this house to keep us all sick for a week!

We went hiking to the other side of the lake and ran into a pack of coyotes. One of them came to within 10 feet of my daughter. There was enough of them to make me real nervous and looking for a limb to grab and swing if need be. but our dogs came up right then and the coyotes fled back into the woods. My daughter is still so thrilled over being so very close to one of them. I wonder how happy she'd be if she realized they are staving and looking for fresh meat right now!

I suppose I ought to go get some work done after having several days in bed. Might run out and enjoy the snow a little more too!

I love do nothing days too. Its a nice change from "I HAVE TO DO ____"

Wow, his menu sounds really delicious. Especially the angel food, sounds like something me and my mom used to make when I lived at home. Practical presents now a days seem like such a blessing compared to when I was younger, its amazing how shoes and clothes are so annoying when you're young then later on you're happy to get anything.

Hiking sounds like fun. How old was your daughter? It may be best to warn her for future reference to stay away from coyotes especially in winter..

My twin daughter's are 15 but sure remind everyone they'll be 16 in July! My son had a great clip to show his sister of wolves going after fresh meat. He let her know if she had been alone that could of been her! She may never walk a lone again!

    I'll second this statement.

The cake sounded soo good -- Angel food cake is my favorite.. And then you added the fruit and whipped topping..Oh My, What a good Birthday Cake that would be. I'll have to make this one..

I certainly hope your D is careful. I'm surprized that the dogs and the coyotes, didn't go at it right before your eyes.
    Do be careful Lady.

Actually this angel food dessert was a creation of my Grandmother's! She always used cherry pie filling and a vanilla instant pudding and then topped it with cool whip. I make everything from scratch now so there's little or no sugar and we use a variety of home made puddings and any kind of fruit.

What a great day!! Accept for the whole coyote thing. How cool to have seen them up close like that though.

Around here coyotes are getting much more aggressive. They are killing the chickens (not eating them, just killing them), chasing the cattle, which is bad because of the new calves and they come right up to the backyard fence and watch the pets AND the family. Matt had to shoot one that came after him and Cindy.
