Burnt Out & Winter Blues

Rate this Entry
Winter is still hanging on with full force while we all brave the sinking economy, wondering what the next few months will bring.
It's easy to get stuck in a rut this time of year, facing increasing heating bills, surprise ice storms, and now even ol' Puxatawny Phil saw his shadow and is telling us to brace for 6 more weeks of winter.

If you're having a difficult time hanging in there, why not hold a "Winter Sucks, Bring on Spring" Party?!

Here are some ideas:

1. Have each of your friends "split" a plant, or start some spring bulbs. Invite several friends and have them bring 1 or 2 of their houseplants that need a little TLC.

Supplies for the party: A few munchies, a Bag of Potting Soil, a couple old pots.

2. Have a Potluck "Think Spring" theme. each of the guests brings one dish of "Spring" time foods.

For example, Chocolate covered strawberries, simple to make and inexpensive (strawberries will be in season in just a couple weeks!)
If you have little ones, let them make tulips out of construction paper and decorate the house.

Getting together, laughing and spending time with friends will quickly chase the winter blues away and truly make Spring feel as though it's just a few days away.

I don't think we should use Puxatawny anymore he sees his shadow way too much from the stats I've read.
