Here's what I need:
300 for Soup Kitchen
12 for AWANA Christmas caroling tonight
24 for Bible Study tonight
100 for my husband and his troops

Here's what I have:

Yep. 70.

This is going to be a long 3 days.

I made gingerbread cookies and sugar cookies for far. The gingerbread are iced. The sugar cookies are frosted and sprinkled.

Next up is tollhouse chocolate chip cookies.

I am also going to make peanut butter, thumb prints, nut crescents, and shortbread cookies.

Dusting the flour off my face and apron to start the next batch...

    Thanks Ladies.

I finished my choc chip and am up to 134 or somewhere around there. I have 28 packed away for my husband so far and I have completed 25 bags of 3 cookies each for the soup kitchen, and I have about 2 dozen not made up in bags yet.

I'm going to do nut crescents right now. I am getting tired.

The nut crescents are in the oven now. When they're done I'm making peanut butter cookies.

    Nut crescents are super easy...

Cream 1 cup softened butter and 1/2 cup white sugar and 1 tsp vanilla extract. Gradually mix in 2 cups flour. Stir in 1 cup finely ground pecans.

Roll teaspoonfuls of dough into 2 1/2 inch logs. Bend in middle to shape like crescents.

Bake for 20 - 22 minutes at 325. When cool, cover with powdered sugar.

    Thank you, Janice!
No problem, Lynn. Enjoy the cookies when you make them. So buttery! Mmmmm...

I am half-way through my soup kitchen bags. I have almost a hundred done up. I'm done baking for the day. I need to get ready for bible study and get the kids ready to go carolling with awana groups tonight.

I'm so tired.... we're having crackers, ham, cheese, and grapes for dinner tonight. I am going to sleep VERY well when my head hits the pillow tonight. And then it's up and at 'em, making thumb prints, shortbread, and maybe another recipe to get to the number of cookies I need.

This is good for the soul. It feels really, really good to do this.

Awesome! Glad you enjoyed the recipe. I know that it's one I am going to keep on hand, for sure!

Above, when I said I had a hundred made up....tired brain. I have fifty or so made up. I need a hundred bags total. I will finish tomorrow night.

This was my first time making gingerbread AND nut crescents, too, and both came out perfect!
