What do you do when your kids get sick?

Rating: 1 votes, 5.00 average.
I'm not talking about raging fevers and other reasons to see the doctor. I'm talking about the average virus: wet cough, runny nose, sore throat, perhaps a mild fever?

As for me...

I clean. And turn to home remedies. I try to stay out of the doctor's office unless the kids are really sick. Colds don't make me run to the doctor.

Cleaning: I can't help it. I clean when they get sick. Aside from helping kill off the stray germs, it gives me a sense of peace, like I'm doing the best I can to help them heal.

Home remedies: I clean out and run the humidifiers and vaporizers. I dole out the honey. I put on a pot of chicken soup, and I prepare three different hydrating beverages for the kids to choose from. Hot tea flows freely from my kitchen at any child's request.

Anyway, in case you haven't guessed, I have two kids with colds today. They had hot oatmeal for breakfast and I am about to start a pot of chicken soup boiling.

I do similar things. I will go to the redbox and rent a movie for them and place them on the couch with a blanket, pillow, and their favorite stuffed animal! Lots of rest when they are sick here, and top ramen!

A movie...that sounds like a good idea! My kids like to sleep in the living room when they are sick. I bet they'd enjoy a movie rental. Thanks, Beans!
