A less overwhelming way to do the Christmas tree

Rating: 1 votes, 5.00 average.
Every year, I'm one of the many who put up a tree ON Thanksgiving Day. After the dishes have been cleared, I turn on the Christmas music and put up the tree, lights, ornaments, and all the trimmings. It takes hours. By the time I'm done, I am so SICK of decorating.

I've done it differently this year. We put up the tree yesterday. But that's all we did. Today, we'll string the lights. Tomorrow, the garland. Thursday is set aside as ornament day, but we'll probably divide that job into two days. And by the weekend, we'll have a fully decorated holiday home, with much less stress and more enjoyment.

We used to put our tree and decorations the day after Thanksgiving, but as the kids have become older they put it up when they feel like it - which was this week. Then we all pitch in and decorate.

That is so nice that you took a break and did it when you are relaxed! We have the tradition that ours goes up the day after Thanksgiving, and it is nice and works well with the family! Take care

Every year I can't wait to put the Christmas tree up. This year in particular was very exciting. Last year I bought a 7 1/2 foot tree for $10!!!! and I bought all of my ornaments last year off clearance. This allowed me to get the very large ornaments and all the fancy stuff. The kids and I just love our tree this year. Now I have to work on getting more presents to put under it )
