Ever had one of those days? Not the bad ones...sure we all get those, but a REALLY GOOD day. I am having one of those days and I want to share.
First, I noticed last night as I was going through the Target ad that a Christmas present I had bought (8 days ago) for $29.99 was now, 19.99 and as my d pointed out the sock monkey slippers she wanted was on sale Well, as most of you would have done, I went to Target today and got the 10.00 back and got the sock monkey (she's crazy about them) slippers she wanted. Yeah!
Then I decided to try my luck at the mall. I thought I was done Christmas shopping, but yesterday on our way to church I noticed that the hubby had no gloves (lost them or was ate by the mysterious nobody again). I had a 10.00 coupon from Penneys with a minimum 10.00 purchase (free money). Normally I would hit the clearance racks to find something up to 10.00. Once I got nice flip flops, a skirt, and a blouse. Today I looked for nice gloves. They had real leather thermo ones normally for 30.00 on sale for 19.99....of course I used my coupon and got them for 9.99.
It was too good to be true, but I thought I would go to Hallmark after that (its in the mall) and see if I could find a nice box for the gloves. I had a 3.00 rewards coupon. Sure enough I got a gift box for 2.99....Yeah!
By now it was getting close to lunch time so I swung through McDonalds and got a free Mocho Latte...from Sundays flyer and drove home to make a sandwich.
When I got home, the house was full of the scent of barbaque (spelling? I'm horrible) pork (from yesterdays pork roast) that I had made in the slowcooker this morning for dinner tonight. You see, Mondays are busy here and as soon as I pick up my d from school, drop of the carpool kids, we are off to dance class until 8:00. We always pack dinner and I, of course, bring some craft to work on. Tonight I will be starting an afgan to cover my ugly chair. Last week some of the other, more well to do mom's, who bring in carry out and sit to gossip made me feel like a second class citizen. Today more then ever I am proud to be frugal, and feel quite first class
Have you ever had one of those days? I would love to here it
