Steps to learn Quilting (On A Budget)

Rating: 1 votes, 5.00 average.
I have always wanted to learn to quilt.
Well I have found a very good way to do this, without costing me anything but my time and gas..(gas is now $i1.78). I went to the local senior center. Yes they have everything right there. I don't have to invest any money.. (I did buy some raffle tickets) Loll. Sweet women there today. I'll work with one of the Ladies there. They said that they would be glad to have me.. I always thought the center was just for the elders in town. Well thoughts were wrong. I took the steps and asked. So a new adventure tomorrow. This will also get me out of the house for a few hours. ( Not used to being home). And I'll learn something new.

Yes! Your local Senior center is a great place to go learn! The ladies are so great and you'll learn so much and enjoy their company while you are there!

    brchbell,

Oh the women and men at the center were so friendly.

The women's quilting corner meets once a week. There are only two of us learning. And two women teaching the group. Which is great for me. Love that one on one teaching they can give. Basic sewing we did today.

The main lady teaching-- owns a quilt shope and get grip of this--she is 90 years young. I couldn't believe it when she told me. Sharp as a tack also. She drives and lives alone..(I just hope that my health stay as good as her's). The liveliess of the conversations were just awsome. I haven't enjoyed myself more then I did today in a long time.

That sounds like so much fun! You'll have to send us pics of your quilt when you're done with it. I have one on my bed that a family member made and I've had it for over 13 years, lol. I've decorated 3 bedrooms in 3 different houses based on the colors in that quilt, lol.
