I'm working on memory quilts for my father-in-law and my husbands twin sister today. At the early stage where I'm transferring pictures to the Colorfast sew-in ink jet fabric sheets. Got a little over half of them done so far and have gone through to set the ink so they are ready to use. Ran short of my fabric sheets so have to pick up some more as I pass by Walmart tonight after Church. I was thrilled to see that the fabric sheets I paid $13 for last year for 3 sheets went to $12 for 7 sheets this year. I'm trying to see if I have enough of that 25 cent a yard fabric left I got from my Amish neighbor to make both quilts. I know I'll probably have to buy the backing but think I got enough quilt batting to make do. They are just little lap quilts so will be easy to work up and small enough I can run them through my sewing machine and quilt the borders.
I need to start on the calendar pages but having so many memory problems and mind lags this week. Probably from doing to much for the last few weeks. My son has had to stay near to help me today on line and while printing the pictures. I have had to have several tumors removed from my brain over the years and now scar tissue has been forming and some days are pretty rough. I've had days were I drool none stop. Days I can't remember how to turn a light on. I never know when or what will hit but it gets much worse when I do to much. So I have a price to pay when I do it.
I have to take my son to Des Moines tomorrow for his physical for Homeland Security. If he passes, he'll be leaving very soon for Barrel Alaska. I'll really miss having him around. He's such a hard worker and helps me so much with my computer stuff. But he has longed dreamed of going to Alaska-- I just was thinking more like Anchorage not Barrel!!!
I hope with all the changes made in the Election we'll see improvements to change the downward slide going on with our economy. But I guess time will tell!
It's been raining off and on all day here. The sun is breaking back out now so maybe we'll have a few hours of dry time before the severe stuff hits later tonight. But of course maybe we'll luck out and miss the severe stuff all together! My kids have enjoyed taking walks today in the gentle rain and warmer temps. By Friday we're suppose to have highs in the 30's so maybe I should of gone for a hike in the rain today!
Hope you are having a lovely day today!
