The Blame Game & Passing the Buck...

I've got to vent about a major pet peeve of mine.. something that irritates me to no end. I've notice a rather Interesting Trend over the past year when sharing recipes on "social media"- there is a distinct select few who often complain about GMO's, Chemicals, & the overall Nutrition factor of recipes. This in itself wouldn't be be an issue, I think it's safe to say that we're all trying to ensure we get the most nutritional bang for our buck, so to speak. I'm pretty sure no one is shopping and saying to themselves, I really hope this doesn't have any vitamins in it and damn, I'd really love to gain another 10 lbs this week.
However, these often demanding, frequently Rude responses makes one ponder the following . . .
If you're preparing the recipe that means that You're the one Controlling the Ingredients.
If You're choosing Chemical or GMO laden ingredients, isn't that on You?
If a recipe calls for Cream of "something" soup and you choose a sodium laden expensive name brand, that's your choice- it can be made Low Sodium at home for a mere fraction of the price. Nearly all the recipes that we share contain homemade counterparts to help control the cost as well as the ingredients.
We very Very Rarely specify to use a particular brand of anything and if we do, it's because we've tried several different ones before sharing the recipe and didn't want you to lose $10, $15 or $20 repeating our mistake!
Budget101.com is about ADAPTING things to suit your the needs of your own family and budget. It's about finding ways to reduce costs and get ahead. Not every idea is going to pertain to every person, but Budget101.com is NOT about tearing down other people for sharing ideas and recipes. I truly do not understand the troll mentality of going onto a page or site to specifically tear down something that someone shared in an effort to help my family.
So there you have it, My Pet Peeve of the Year . . . people passing the buck instead of embracing the fact that they are in control of their OWN lives & Choices.
