We are making history today 11/4/08

Rating: 1 votes, 5.00 average.
Well here we are - Election day 2008". No matter was happens, and who ever gets elected - we are making history!!

I have to be at work at 8:30 am so I figured I would be fine if I made it to the polls to vote at 7am - OH NO....When my daughter and I got there (this is her first year voting too and she is excited!!) the line had to be over 200 people!!! I have voted every year there has been elections for ANYTHING, and not once have I ever seen this kind of turnout!!! I was in AWE!! I stood in line until almost 9am and when I finally got to the poll to vote, they were saying that the line was over 300 people...mind you we live in one of the smallest counties in the state of Virginia!!

The money that is being spent to had out this literature....and these buttons.....etc...could have gone to something better...like the hungry, homeless, helping people who need heat or help paying their mortgage....This frustrates me also.... I know we all on budget101 could help them with some great ideas on how to be frugal!!!

Well I voted and made it to work....I hope everyone has a safe day out there. I guess we will see what our future holds in a few hours...

God Bless all!!

It is going to be a long night. Wonder if we will find out tonight. As I was reminding the boys this morning that just eight years ago it took over a week after the elections to find out who had actually won.

Interesting how people have the money for all sorts of voting related items and campaigning yet we are still trying to put gas in the car, make it to work, pay the bills, and hope we have one more day before we go broke. WILD!

Two hundred in line! Wow. In Washington most people use an absentee ballot, so I voted from my couch yesterday!

Whoever wins, I think the economy will take awhile to get better. It's good to have resources like Budget101.com. I'm learning alot here!

We got so sick of the phone ringing and thankfully got rid of the TV 3 years ago and can't get radio out here. We started a movie night with the stereo blearing after we got in at night. I was laughing just now at the political plea messages left on the phone that we couldn't hear over the stereo! Over 47 I had to delete from last night! We all voted this morning, less than a 5 minute wait. Decided we won't turn to the internet tonight but will wait until tomorrow morning to hear results! Always glad when election day is over! The phone calls bordered on harassment! I can't imagine what the TV & radio must of sounded like!

Yes we are making history today! Here in Oregon, our voting is done by mail! So much easier I sent out my ballot last week/

I am so glad the election is over. The ads are so annoying!

I did the early voting thing, and there was no wait in my town.

Obama won by a lot, didn't he? Wow. His daughters looked so pretty on stage last night. I know, not very deep political discussion but there is my input.
