Winter Winter GO AWAY!

Rate this Entry
I KNOW that the groundhog said six more weeks of winter, and in the deep south, that usually does not mean anything, but again tonight and tomorrow the weather man is calling for a deep freeze in our area. I am just about tired of winter, and soup and cold weather. I am longing for warmer days and nights and fresh salad greens from the garden. I say we give Ol Man Winter the boot!

I feel for you. I am in South Dakota and we have had so much subzero temperatures this year it has been so unbearable. Spring is coming though, we had a high in the mid 50's today. If I could I would send it your way.

Thank you wilbe95! I hope that the weather has turned the corner and Spring is well on it's way! I am ready to dig in the garden and see things grow!

I feel your pain Leisa, I'm dying to get the camper rolling again but these 35F degree nights are NOT cutting it for me. I don't like wearing a snowmobile suit, lol.

You can start some greens in the house though, they're not super quick, but it makes you feel like spring is on its way.

Oh, FreebieQueen! You are speaking my language! Seedlings for tomatoes and cucumbers are filling up my kitchen table and I have sprouts going in a jar in the kitchen dish drainer. Yesterday we brought in a load of dirt and got it spread in the raised beds we are building. I am ready to plunk some plants in the earth and get dirty and marvel at the sounds of spring. If the rain stops for a little while today, I will go throw some lettuce seeds out there to get those going too. I miss fresh veggies in the winter, and while I do supplement from the grocery store, nothing tastes as good as homegrown, does it? Hopefully we won't see ol man winter until much later this year! I hope your spring gets to you soon too!
