How to save on trash bags?

Rate this Entry
Hello group! I am trying to live less expensive for 2014 and have found that I spend a fortune on trash bags. Does anyone know of a way to reduce this expense?

Hi shelley, you probably wont receive much of a response to a help question in the blogs area. Your blog is a place for you to write about life in general, you family, whats going on with you, etc, more like a journal of sorts. Your best bet if you have a question that you'd like to receive responses from as many people as possible, is to post it in the discussion forums. Here is the link for you:

I agree that posting in the forum will yeild many more suggestions. There are some things you can do: break up boxes-tear them into small pieces, recycle, crush milk containers and cans, use a garbage disposal for food items or start a compost if you have the area and are able to have that in your location.

I compost what I can, I use plastic shopping bags for garbage when possible.

I buy trash bags at Sam's club. They seem to be cheaper for me. I live in the LOND and coupons for trash bags are far and few between. I also take bigger boxes, stuff them full of recycling and drop it off at the schools recycling bin every week or so. You could also do this with plastic bins. Just don't drop the bins in...

If there is an Aldi near you, I have found that their trash bags are reasonable. Also check with your dollar store.

If you start recycling all your plastic glass paper etc you will save a lot of trash bags... I used to recycle very seriously and I used to change my trash bag every 2 or 3 days, now I don't have time to recycle and I change my trash bag once a day....go green! Ahah
