Really how hard is it to find something?

I have been cleaning silver like crazy off and on. I have found some maker's marks but no amount of research I do can't find my pieces. It makes me sad and even sadder they sat in a box for 15+ years. My fingers have been black and sooty, been scrubbing the years of tarnish off such beautiful pieces, at least I know they are happy to be shinning again and will be used or displayed in my house.

I started to post on this the other day when I first saw your post, but I got distracted by something. There are a number of silver cleaner recipes here on the site, as well as silver polish recipes using basic household ingredients.

You might want to post a photo of the marks on your pieces here on your blog- maybe one the members can help you figure out where/when it was made.

& Congrats on such a lovely gift!

I love my silver and thank you. I actually found that New England Silver Plate Co. falls under international silver and the pieces I have are the following... cigar/cigarette holder, bon bon dish, and pipe holder of some type. The silverware to eat with are from at least 4 different sets. I can't wait to polish them all, and get them back to being shinny!
