Can't wait for the next presidential elections! Hope we can clean out Congress and the White House with folks who will realize the crisis we are in and start to work on really fixing it. No Obama didn't cause this mess! it's been going on for a very, very long time! Congress and the president putting us deeper into debt. Oh, it all sounded good at time I'm sure but now we are in big trouble and they don't seem to notice! The economy is doing fine they say??? Really? Sure had me fooled! I got adult children moving back home due to job lay offs and another one had his job totally cut along with 1,799 others! he's scared to death he's going to lose his house. he searching nationwide and willing to settle on Walmart of flipping hamburgers if it will pay his house payment. He had a nice down payment so his payments are just $587 so he can get by with a lower paying job if he has too! I've had to go back to work and my husband is looking for a part time job too! So much for retirement! the crisis 2 years ago where Uncle Sam rescinded 2,000 reserve troops orders through us for a big loop we are still trying to crawl out of under. We had to pay back everything my husband had spent and was paid along with trying to get him home from his deployment. The nice nest egg we had tucked away was instantly spent to pay part of the debt and we worked hard and spent nothing so we had it all paid back in 4 month's. But without that nice nest egg everything that could go wrong has. Our first full retirement year and our state hit us with an extra $1,500 in taxes. the dryer broke down, my desktop computer died, our AC just died, the car broke down, our riding mower died. Had ER visits, all those lovely things that keep hitting and now the bills are piling up so back to work I go. We hope to have it all cleared out and several thousand back into savings by next spring. At least I was able to get a job! Both son's that moved back home are disabled so finding a job is much harder for them. One turned in his medical records and got on SSDI and food stamps to tide him over until the job market improves. I keep on gardening and hope to get plenty of food put away for the coming year. I've been busy canning and drying like crazy. the way our country is going I think we're going to need all the food we can get! Hope you are able to put away lots of food too! The idiots in Washington might not think there is a problem but from where I'm sitting I'm just hoping to keep my job until spring time! If I really thought about it all I'd probably start bawling but I just keep a smile on my face and keep plugging along taking care of my family and friends. We'll all be ok, stashing away our food for the coming year and growing stronger together as we all fight to survive. Be strong my friend and you'll make it too!
