Summer is in the Air!

Rate this Entry
What a long couple of weeks it has been. I spent most of the week stripping old wallpaper, (directions & photos to be shared shortly!), preparing several rooms for painting, painting and helping tile a floor. It was a nice reprieve from the hot roofs we've been working on, but it looks like we'll be back on a few more starting tomorrow.
The kids have been out of school for a week and will soon be heading on a trip of their own to spend time with family members they haven't seen in ages. It'll give me the chance to pull up all the tiles in my kitchen and change the color of the grout, lol. I hate Beige/Sand/tan- *shudder*. It'll be interesting to see how that goes. If I discover an "easy" way to do it, I'll be sure to share it in tips-n-tricks!

The weather has been holding steady in the high 90's for a few weeks now.

The garden is doing beautifully! I love mound gardening as it is completely effortless. Yesterday I picked a dozen or so cukes, several summer squash and a couple large zucchinis. I'm looking forward to nice fresh tomatoes, my plants are loaded, but none of them are ripe right now.

How is everyone doing these days? The blogs have been rather quiet!

I am working on putting in new flooring in the kitchen and dining room areas in my house. I have the tiled look but with the ease of the laminate wood, they make some that look like tile and they are the easiest things to install and no grout work . Just finished redoing walls in a bathroom. I have to tell you a secret that I discoverd. You know those little square painters to get around the edges of a door and window etc? They work wonderful for the whole wall! I painted my whole bathroom in just a few hours with no touchups just using that little edger painter. Plus you can wash them of and they don't get stiff like the rollers or a paint brush. My walls are textured and the coverage was fantastic barely used a quarter of the gallon of paint we bought.

That's awesome, we had those for awhile in our kitchen when we lived up North, they're super easy to clean! Right now I'm in the process of chipping out the grout from our kitchen tile work because I want to change the color. I hate BEIGE *shudder*

We'd all love to see photos of your projects (before & after!) - I really need to upload mine too!
