Well, it was an eventful weekend for us to say the least. We installed a new sand filter system for our swimming pool after finding a really great deal at Amazon & had it overnighted for only $3.99! (Did I mention I love AMAZON!)
We decided to install a pipe for the backwash so that it didn't wash our lawn. My youngest offered to dig the trench. I reminded dh to show him where the 220v power line ran so said son wouldn't hit it- and I went off to get the garden tilled, mounded and planted.
Well, needless to say a very shaky ds comes over to me and says he was electrocuted. Apparently he hit the 220v line and thought it was a root so he hit it as hard as he could. . . and it Hit Back. He got a little burn on his hip from having his knife attached to him, but other than a real good lesson on respecting electricity, he's otherwise fine.
I managed to get the garden in- we have a full row of tomatoes, green-red-yellow bell peppers, cantaloupe, zucchini, jalapenos, habeneros, summer squash, pumpkins, watermelons, sweet peas, cucumbers (slicers), pickling cucumbers, and a few choice herbs. I installed the self watering timer and instead of straw between the rows I used mulch as it was dirt cheap at Lowes.
If half of the stuff that I planted comes in, we'll be eating high on the hog as they say. I have a few more recipes to add to the site today, and if you haven't see in yet, you should check out the latest $50 weekly menu!
For now, I'm off to mow the lawn before heading back to work, Have a great Day!
