Out with the Old, In with the New . . .

Well, this year has come to a screeching halt! I was rather shocked this morning when I started working at my computer, searching for some decent freebies to share and noticed that the date was 12/29. Wow, in all honesty, the past 3 months have just been flying by!
It still seems as though there aren't enough hours in the day to get everything accomplished that I want to tackle. Although I continue to cross things off my big ol' bucket list, it also continues to grow. I'm happy to report that I've started working out again, after a lengthy reprieve, thanks to a crazy horse. It's been nearly 15 months since that riding accident where I literally broke my ass (hehe, the kids say they can tell it's broken as "it has a crack in it"). All kidding aside, having a broken tailbone is no laughing matter. You wouldn't believe how frustrating it is to do (normally) simple things, such as yardwork, gardening, a daily exercise routine, etc. I don't know if it's finally healed or if my stubborn side is just digging in, but either way, i've returned to my workout routines, full throttle.
I suppose my only real issue is that I HATE to workout in front of other people, so I have to time my workouts between everyone else' schedule.
I never understood how people could stand to go to a gym. . . first of all, people are sweating/drooling/oozing ALL over the equipment. You have to WASH it before you can use it, which in my mind equates to me Paying hard earned money to Clean someone else's stuff. My brain says, "No". If I'm paying for an expensive gym membership, shouldn't they have folks walking around scrubbing the sweat & drool off the machines?? Please don't tell me people don't drool on the machines, I've watched people HEAVE on equipment, drool is a nice way of putting it. Then, whilst your sweating your rear off, instead of concentrating on what you're doing, you're busy watching Steroid enhanced Rambo who's off to the side bench pressing the tread machine (while Helga's on it!) because the weights aren't heavy enough for him anymore.
It's certainly nice to be working out in my living room, saving money on gas, saving money on gym fees and not having to buy "workout" clothes.
I'm looking forward to 2011, have tons of new ideas for the site- I just need to find a little extra time to implement them!
I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions for things you'd like to see or areas that you'd like us to cover. We're working on adding a new feature where members can reply to threads and posts via email, but it's not quite ready to be released yet!
