Medical bills Looming

Is it strange that being on a budgeting site for this long, I'm still struggling with keeping money?

I just got a new job in the beginning of November, but I haven't gotten paid yet. I just got my mail from a friend of mine and apparently one of my medical bills told me that if I didn't pay by the DEC 3 (which was the day I picked up my mail*) I'd be forwarded to a collection's agency for payment. I know my credit is probably down the tubes now... But instead of paying part of this bill I ended up spending a 110 check... 20 on a bus pass, 20 on a phone card for more minutes, 10 for a friend, and about 25 on fast food for me and a friend. I still have the remainder... I just don't want to pay that bill yet. I have 35 in a check I need to cash now.. But I want to buy food-groceries specifically... which I haven't done since early october. I wouldn't get more than the basics.

It doesn't help my job isn't going to pay me nearly enough to pay off much. Let alone get me back on my feets... its irritating. I have so much looming over my head right now and its something I'm just going to worry about until things can even out... I don't know how I'm going to pull this off... But I know I can... somehow...

Our economy is going down the tube. I know of so many struggling. I can't believe they haven't paid you yet! I've got a medical bill which thankfully is only $300 which they refuse to bill to my military Tri-care insurance. My Nephew has cancer and 8 months into treatments his insurance got canceled leaving him with $8000 a month bills which of course he can't pay so they stopped his treatments. He's only 20 yrs old and his cancer is back and if the state doesn't jump in he'll die soon for sure. We're on our own now a days it seems. I've been studying herbal any other medications in hopes of finding ways to treat ourselves and some of this stuff is working much better than going to the doctor. Unfortunately it appears to be the only option given to us any more! I've already been told that because I've reached 45 they will no longer do my cancer check ups or give treatments in my HMO. I guess we're not worth anything any more. Now that we both got to vent hopefully we feel better! I hope your financial life improves very soon! I know we are all working 2 and 3 jobs trying to keep our family going. It's hard and I think it's going to get harder before it gets better.

I had to have surgery in October, my gallbladder went out! I ended up in the er 2x before they figured out what was wrong with me! To make a long story short, I was in the hospital for 4 days and they billed my insurance $25,000! I have an 80/20 plan and no money to pay them right now. Not to mention that I am not happy about having to pay for 2 visits to the ER! I hear you, call and see if they will take small payments. Coming from an insurance biller, they will take whatever you can pay a month even if it is only five bucks, those five bucks keep their bosses off their butts. Also ask them to keep the intrest off! Take care many blessings to you.
