I am telling you my dh is like my third child. rrrr I am really trying to get the kids to eat healthy, you know one fruit or veggie per meal. Tonight I made stroganoff and a salad. My ten year old I knew was going to throw a fit. Sure enough he did.....he went for a second helping of the pasta, and still had not touched his very small salad. I gave the dh that look and he held his hands out like just wait dont say anything, so I didnt say a word. My youngest wanted to get into the bath, so I slipped away from the table for a second, just in enough time to come back to CATCH my dh putting my son's salad back into the salad bowl! I was seeing red, notice I am typing in it as well! The nerve! So I said something and they both lied to me and said that he had already ate his salad. So I went over and put more in his bowl for him to eat. Not to mention his second helping was one of those cases when your eyes are bigger than your stomach. We have been going thru this a lot latley whatever he puts on his plate he has to eat. So after the wyning and crying about the salad stopped, I went up to help the DH out with some work things while the oldest one was still at the table, only to have him tell me that his dad told him if he was stuffed that he didnt have to finish! SO TWICE TONIGHT HE HAS GONE OVER MY HEAD AND LET THE KID WIN! This is why I have the behavior problems that I do with him, b/c his father wants to be his friend. So frustrating, and when I call him out on his behavior, he yells at me and tells me that I am acting like the child. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Ok Thanks I feel better just needed to let it out.

Wow Lady, Sorry to hear that you are fighting the healthy food battle with seemingly very little support.
I'm proud of you for standing your ground, you're doing the right thing. Hang in there...

I understand what you are saying. We have the same issues here. Hubby and our youngest wont eat veggies. It's a tough battle to fight.

I got so tired of fighting the healthy food battle and went under ground in the kitchen. Now everyone eats healthy whether they want to or not or whether they realize or not! I finally grate veggies and mix them into hamburger. I can turn 1/2 pound of very lean ground beef into 7 large thick hamburgers with finely grated veggies and 1/2 cup of mashed red beans and a few spices. Most of them have never known what they are eating. I grind dried veggies and beans into flour to add to all kinds of baked goods. I grind oat groats, brown rice and barley in equal amounts and use that for white flour. I've experimented a lot and now most of my family can't stand to get fast food-- it tastes funny! Most of them are more willing to eat vegetable soup, ect now -- it seems over the last few years their taste buds seemed to of changed! Don't give up, but you might want to get a little creative!

I have a daughter-in-law that only eats meat & potatoes. Guess what - both of her children are the same way. The only reason she even buys veggies is because my son likes them and at that it's cans only that can be opened and heated in the microwave (no seasoning or anything). He was raised eating everything. Good luck with your creativity.
