      Default Bean Soup

      this is so good to come home to when the weather turns chilly and a good way to use leftover ham or pork...
      Bean Soup
      1 bag of your favorite dry beans
      8 cups water
      2 15-oz can tomato sauce
      salt and pepper to taste
      4 potatoes, diced
      4 carrots, shredded
      2 onions, diced
      1 cup ham or pork, diced
      Soak beans overnight in enough water to cover as they swell. Drain beans. Put all ingredients in crockpot. Stir well. Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours.
      note: diced bacon, about 8 slices, can be used; leftover sausages, sliced works well, too!

      What's everybody's favorite bean? I am not sure I have one. I do like lima beans but don't know if thats a good choice?

      I think Great Northern Beans, Pinto Beans, Cranberry Beans, or maybe Black Beans would be really good choices for this delicious sounding dish. I would think Kidney Beans would do nicely also.
