this is so good to come home to when the weather turns chilly and a good way to use leftover ham or pork...
1 bag of your favorite dry beans
8 cups water
2 15-oz can tomato sauce
salt and pepper to taste
4 potatoes, diced
4 carrots, shredded
2 onions, diced
1 cup ham or pork, diced
Soak beans overnight in enough water to cover as they swell. Drain beans. Put all ingredients in crockpot. Stir well. Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours.
note: diced bacon, about 8 slices, can be used; leftover sausages, sliced works well, too!
