    Default German-Style Dinner

this is almost a dump and run recipe...you need to prep the most of the ingredients and THEN dump and run
    German-Style Dinner
    2 c fresh sauerkraut
2 large apples, cored and sliced thin
1 small onion, chopped in chunks
2 c peeled potatoes, sliced thin
    1 1/2 c peeled rutabaga cubes
8 oz ham cut into small pieces
3/4 c cranberry juice or apple cider
1 1/2 Tablespoons packed brown sugar
    1 bay leaf
    pepper to taste
In a large slow cooker, combine sauerkraut, apples, onion, potatoes, rutabaga and ham. Add bay leaf and pepper. Mix juice and brown sugar. Pour over kraut mix. Cover and cook 1 hour on high. Stir mixture. Reduce heat to low and cook 6-7 hours
