1 tsp. light Corn syrup
3/4 C. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1 C. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/8 C. margarine
Blend all ingredients and boil for 5 minutes. Use a large kettle as it tends to foam. Yields 1 cup syrup
If you'd like to make Homemade Maple Buttermilk Syrup, add 1 tsp of Maple Extract to the syrup during the last 30 seconds of cooking, be careful of splashing/splashback.
