• Buttermilk Syrup

Simple Sugar Syrup-b101-buttermilk-syrup-sm.jpgIf you love the taste of buttermilk syrup on your pancakes, waffles or french toast, here is a simple recipe for making your own!

    You'll Need:
    1 tsp. light Corn syrup
    3/4 C. buttermilk
    1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 C. sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/8 C. margarine

Blend all ingredients and boil for 5 minutes. Use a large kettle as it tends to foam. Yields 1 cup syrup

If you'd like to make Homemade Maple Buttermilk Syrup, add 1 tsp of Maple Extract to the syrup during the last 30 seconds of cooking, be careful of splashing/splashback.

We understand that many people are trying to avoid Corn Syrup due to GMO's- we do have a homemade Cane Syrup Recipe that you can use in place of the corn syrup. In this recipe, corn syrup is used to stabilize the sugars and prevent crystallization.
