    • MYO Flavored Syrups

Summer DrinksMaking your own flavored syrups for drinks, cocktails, slushies and dessert toppings is easy & inexpensive!

      Base Ingredients:
2-1/2 cups sugar or splenda or nutrasweet
      1-1/4 cups water

      Flavoring Choice: Choose 1:
      • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
      • 1-2 tbsp. orange blossom water
      • Rosewater
      • 5 drops Any kind
Flavoring Oils: peppermint, spearmint, orange, lemon, crème de menthe, vanilla, anise and chocolate flavors (Flavoring oils can often be found in the baking aisle near the cake frostings)

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar and water together, stirring often until the sugar is completely dissolved. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer until it thickens to the same consistency as maple syrup. Remove from heat and add the flavorings of your choice.

The flavor possibilities are nearly endless! Once the syrup has cooled, pour it into a bottle, cap and store in the refrigerator for up to 30 days.

To use them, simply mix the flavored syrup with water to the desired sweetness. We like ours with just 1 Tbs or so per glass and then add fresh sliced fruit or berries.
