    • Cinnamon Apple Fruit Roll Snack

      Make your own healthy cinnamon apple fruit roll snacks. Homemade fruit leathers are an excellent way to take advantage of seasonal fruits as well as fruit sales.

      You'll Need:
      * 1-1/2 cups applesauce
      * 1 small apple, peeled, cored and chopped
      * 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
      * 1/8 tsp Nutmeg
      * 2 T. Honey
      * 1/8 teaspoon ascorbic acid (Optional, prevents darkening of the fruit)

      Combine all items in a blender, puree until smooth. Pour onto solid fruit roll sheets or onto prepared trays. (Parchment paper works well if using the oven drying method.

      Dry at 135 F. for 8-12, or until leathery. (Oven drying times may vary) Alternatively, Approximate drying times are 4 to 6 hours in a Food Dehydrator, or 1 to 2 days in the sun if you prefer ALL Natural.

      Remove from sheets while still warm, place on wax paper, press gently. Cut into 12 even strips lengthwise, rolling the strips with the paper side out. Store in dark, dry, cool place or in freezer.

      Re: MYO Cucumber Salsa

      You can save a lot of fat calories by substituting Plain or Greek Yogurt without sacrificing flavour. They are also less expensive that Sour Cream and even cheaper if you make them at home.
