Making an apple pie out of dehydrated apple slices is cinch with this tried and true recipe with cinnamon, nutmeg and a touch of lemon juice.
You'll Need:
- 3 1/2 C. dried apples
- 2 C. water
- 3/4 C. sugar
- 1 t. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
- spritz of lemon juice
Combine apples & water in a saucepan
over medium heat until tender. The apples will rehydrate during the cooking and baking process. Add sugar and cinnamon. Fill and top with pie crust and bake 40-45 minutes at 350 degrees.
If the apples are a bit too sweet, add a spritz of fresh lemon juice.
