My husband and I are new to backyard chickens. This is our second year, but we LOVE it and are seemingly successful. We raised 50+ as Christmas gifts of grandchildren. (Now that was a story in itself.) My husband build one chicken tractor, and as these pets grew in size we had to increase our tractors. We have settled on three chicken tractors and usually around 25 birds. We have had roosters in our freezer and 6-15 eggs a day. We call this adventure…”Pampered Poultry”!

I totally understand. I have been raising chickens for a few years now and I also love it. The eggs are the best little bonus for me , and I love to just go out and talk to them some days they are the funniest little things. I have been raising them for about 5 or 6 years now , but no roo’s . Hubby says if it crows it has to go. I did hatching for a while and that was way too much fun, but I love those fuzzy butts and of course the ones I loved and tried to keep turned into roo’s .
