Short on dough this Christmas? The holidays are upon us and the economy is still in the dumps, here’s a fun, tasty, Useful holiday gift idea for all ages that is also very inexpensive and well-received.
This fun gift idea is great for those who don’t have a lot of money to spend, it’s creative, clever and tasty for the lucky recipient! The dough can be prepared ahead of time and frozen too, making it easy to give last-minute gifts.
Short on Dough Gift Idea
You’ll Need:
- 1 Batch of Raw Homemade Cookie Dough– any flavor that you like
- Wax Paper (or Parchment Paper, or Freezer paper)
- Tissue Paper
- Stickers or ribbon
Prepare your favorite cookie dough recipe. If you want to make the raw dough safe for eating you can use meringue powder in place of the eggs or a pasteurized egg substitute in the recipe. This way, impatient gift recipients can munch on the dough without worries of salmonella!
Tear off a sheet of wax paper, dust lightly with flour:
Spoon Cookie dough into a roll on the paper
Spread the dough out evenly into an 8′-10″ length.
Just a note, you should be able to get approximately 2 logs per cookie recipe.
Roll the dough into a log shape, smoothing it as you go.
Roll the log in Colored tissue paper.
Tie Ribbons on both ends, decorate with stickers if desired.
Attach the baking instructions with a tag as well as the following little note:
” We thought this would come in Handy, Since everyone is a little short of Dough during the Holidays”
