Create your own healthy Carob Doggie treats with this easy recipe that fido will literally beg for! These make wonderful holiday gifts for pet lovers in your family.

Please note that this recipe calls for carob powder, NOT CHOCOLATE, as chocolate is TOXIC to dogs and cats.

6 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
      1 cup carob powder
      1/4 cup honey
      1/2 cup canola oil
      2 1/2 cups water

In a large mixing bowl add all the ingredients and stir well until it forms a stiff dough, Roll out on a floured board to about 1/4 inch thickness.

Using a floured cutter (design of your choice!) Cut into shapes.

Place the cut outs on an ungreased cookie sheet and Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.

Turn the oven off and keep biscuits inside without opening door slightly, & allow to sit overnight to harden.

Be sure to keep kids & pets away from the oven!

Makes about 6 dozen 3-inch cookies.

If you'd like dip them in carob coating for added kick!

Could anyone recommend an alternative to wheat flour as my dogs (and many others) are allergic to wheat.

Re: Has anyone noticed side effects with Sentinel in their pets?

Can anyone give advice on what to give your dog for fleas and heartworm? My dog was on Sentinel and developed pancreatitis. I don't wont to give him this medication. He is an 8 year old miniature...

We just acquired a mini golden doodle puppy. Additionally, we have 3 cats, 3 guinea pigs, 1 hermit crab, 1 cockatiel, 1 pet rabbit, plus about 65 farm rabbits, dairy goats and chickens.

Re: Any tips for dog that won't stop licking people?

I understand your frustration, I have a lab that is a licker. Mine is a rescue girl who was very abused and abandoned. She then spent a bit of time in isolation due to medical conditions for the...
